G’day everyone and welcome to Riding Through Winter Week on ebiketips. A lot of you will be looking out of the window and thinking this is not the best time for e-bikes. Well, you’re wrong! We love summer rides as much as anyone, but we also believe that winter is when e-bikes really come into their own. Over the next seven days, we’ll be explaining why and we’ll also give you a few tips so that you can hopefully join us out there.
Yes, we know it’s not even meteorological winter yet – let alone astronomical winter. It’s getting darker and colder and wetter though, so we'll argue it qualifies as what you might call ‘vernacular winter.’
The clocks have gone back, the central heating’s gone on, the big coat’s out and the roads are just generally filthier. As far as enthusiasm for getting out on your bike’s concerned, it’s winter.
So what do you do? Do you park your e-bike and let the clutter accumulate around it until April? Or do you actually use the thing?
Now, more than ever, is when you actively need to seek out fresh air and natural light. Whether you’re commuting, going to the shops, popping out for half an hour in your lunch break, or going on a weekend coffee ride, an e-bike is by far the best way to do this (in our entirely unbiased opinion).
If you’re still not with us on this, stick with us for the rest of this week and see if we can persuade you…
