Chinese budget e-bike brand Fiido has launched an e-cargo bike – although with a 750W motor, the initial version of the T1 appears to be made for the US market.
We felt that Fiido’s folding e-bike, the D11, was a pretty solid package for a smidge over £800 when we reviewed it back in 2020.
Last we heard, the firm was looking to launch another folder and also an e-scooter. The Fiido X did indeed appear and quickly sold out, but this new utility step-through bike appears to have leapfrogged the Beast e-scooter.
Visually, the Fiido T1 is more than a little reminiscent of the recently updated RadPower RadRunner.
That’s a great bike (review here) and still pretty bargainous even at its new slightly-higher price of €1,499. The Fiido T1 is similarly priced (£1,179.68 at the time of writing) but with a couple of RadPower’s extras included as standard.
The Fiido T1 teams that 750W rear hub motor with a 960Wh battery. You also get 7-speed gearing, a rack, a basket, 20” fat tyres and a powerful front light.
There are three levels of assist and there’s a front suspension fork and a suspension seat post for comfort.
The RadRunner also started out with a 750W motor in the US, but a 250W version is now produced for the European market. No news yet on whether Fiido will follow suit.
