It’s been another busy week in the world of electric tech, this time we’ve got kids on electric balance bikes (who knew they needed one?) and a McLaren Senna crossover with Pure Electric e-scooters to name a few. Let’s dive into the biggest stories of the week.
Moustache reinvents their Dimanche e-bike range
Not just for Sunday riders, as the name might suggest, the new Dimanche 28 and 29 e-bikes are designed for road and gravel applications respectively. The French brand has gone for a Bosch SX mid-drive system, with 400Wh batteries to give riders a decent range.
The two bike models look far more suave than the last iterations from 2019, and should ride nicely with Bosch’s lightweight motor. It kicks out a maximum of 55Nm of torque, so it’s not the most powerful of motors, but definitely among the most responsive.

SUPER73 announce pre-orders are open for their children’s Electric Balance Bike
We imagine this will probably ignite a fair bit of debate about whether or not it’s a product that’s needed, but nevertheless, US brand SUPER73 has announced its K1D electric balance bike will soon be coming to the UK. It will retail for £1,099 on the SUPER73EU website and delivery to customers will be available from July.
The brand says it’s suitable for kids aged 4 to 8, and comes with different class modes so the bikes can be locked into achieving certain speeds (7mph, 13mph and 15mph). According to SUPER73, this “allows riders to learn the fundamentals of an electric balance bike at a lower speed.” If you’re in the UK, your kids will be restricted to riding their K1D balance bike on private land. The bikes are available to pre-order now.
Pure Electric collaborates with McLaren for new Senna inspired e-scooter
Launched last week, electric mobility brand Pure Electric has partnered with McLaren and the Senna Foundation (of the late Ayrton Senna) to bring customers a Senna Special Edition e-scooter. It's liveried in the Brazilian colours that once adorned Senna's racing helmet, and according to Pure Electric, is "the racing spirit of McLaren, now on two wheels. This collaboration sets a new standard for urban travel."
Unfortunately the first batch sold out last week, but you can still put your name down to hear if/when new stock becomes available. The scooter is priced at £1,200 and features a claimed 50km range, and 710W peak motor power.

Fazua adds 350W boost function to its Ride 50 system
Electric bike motor manufacturer Fazua has released a firmware update for its Ride 50 system. Used on plenty of electric gravel and urban bikes, the Ride 50 is a mid-drive setup and offers superb responsiveness. The firmware update will include a 'boost' function for the Ride 50 Evation motor, which will allow riders to use the motor's peak power of 350W for up to 4 seconds when activating from a standstill, or up to 12 seconds whilst riding. This boost is already available on the Trail and Street packages.
Other updates include improved LED brightness on the system's remote, the option to callibrate the drive unit's torque sensor, improved fault diagnostics and more. The firmware update is available to download using Fazua Toolbox Software on your PC.
