We don’t see too many of them over here in the UK, but Lidl is offering a growing range of e-bikes in Germany and elsewhere on the continent. Clean Rider reports that the latest addition is the Brose mid-motor sporting Fischer Montis 6.0i – a model reminiscent of some of Decathlon’s Rockrider eMTBs.
Lidl introduced its in-house Crivit range of urban e-bikes last year. These are decent spec rear hub motor urban bikes with torque sensors and belt drives that sell for €1,599.
Beyond that, you can find any number of other e-bikes on the lidl.de site, with wonderfully percussive brand names like Zundapp, Maxtron and TELEFUNKEN (we don’t normally respect shouty capitalisation, but it feels in this instance like it adds something).
The new bike isn’t exclusive to Lidl – it’s produced by Swiss brand Fischer – but it does sound a more serious proposition.
Most obviously, it’s built around a Brose Drive S mid-motor which is said to offer up to 90Nm of torque. This is combined with a decently-sized 504Wh battery and RockShox front and rear suspension. Gearing is 12-speed SRAM SX.
Not bad for a current (discounted) price of €1,906 (down from €3,449).
