Look have launched a gravel bike with electric assistance courtesy of Fazua, dubbed the e-765 Gravel. It follows on from the launch of their e-765 Optimum e-road bike last week, and they've also launched a regular motor-less version of the e765 Gravel RS too.
The frame is full carbon and uses 23% high modulus, 25% intermediate modulus, 37% high resistance and 15% specific fibres, according to Look. It includes many of the performance features of the 765 Gravel RS, such as '3D Wave' seatstays that provide off-road comfort and an integrated Direct Drive stem and headset for snappy handling.
It uses the removable Fazua battery and motor system, which weighs in at just 4.6kg, and with that included the total weight of the bike is 13.6kg. The motor assists you up to 25km/h as standard in the EU, with four modes including a 400 watt ‘rocket mode’ that you can select through the handlebar-mounted remote. Look say their close partnership with Fazua has allowed them to research their own power mapping profile for the electronic control unit, developed for optimum performance while taking on gravel.
Elsewhere, the e-765 Gravel comes fitted with chunky 37mm treaded tyres, and it's also able to run 650b wheels with up to 54mm tyres. Up front, Look's Direct Drive integrated alloy cockpit is designed to be rigid and lightweight, echoing the forms of the frame to ensure stability.
The e-765 Gravel comes in two groupsets options, both 1x and both courtesy of SRAM. With a SRAM Force 1x groupset the price for the full bike is €6,499, and with SRAM Rival 1x it's €5,799 (UK prices still to be confirmed). Head over to the landing page on Look's website for more info.
