Urban transport specialists Tern and Overseas Adventure Travel (O.A.T.) have announced that their first season of offering e-bike experiences on O.A.T cruise ships has been a success, with many passengers enjoying e-bike tours on their holidays already.
A fleet 100 Tern Vektron e-bikes have been made available across 13 ships, with over 2,200 customers reaping the benefits already. O.A.T. specialise in small group adventures for their passengers, and the Vektron bikes have helped their customers to explore stop-off points on and off the beaten path with greater ease. Alastair Newton of O.A.T says: "Our travellers are always looking to explore new places, and one of the best ways of doing so is on a bicycle; and an e-bike has additional benefits. It allows our customers to explore further and it allows everyone in the family to join without worrying about distance, terrain, or keeping up with the group."
Tern's Vektron (here's the new version we have in for test at the moment) resizes super quickly to fit riders from 4"10 to 6"5, and features a Bosch drivetrain to ensure a smooth ride. It's also a folder of course, which obviously has benefits for storage on small cruise ships. It's certainly a decent bonus for cruise ship travellers, and once again shows how useful e-bikes can be in their various forms.
