If it's an e-bike that looks and feels like a motorbike you want, one designed by a former Harley Davidson engineer ain't a bad place to start - and the FUELL Fluid might just be one of the most badass e-bikes out there at the moment.
Harley Davidson reveal e-bike prototypes
Having raised over £1 million and counting on their Indiegogo crowdfunder, FUELL proclaim the Fluid as the "world's best" e-bike. The name is a play on the name of its founder Erik Buell, who created the legendary Buell motorbike and worked for Harley Davidson for over a decade - his latest creation has a number of nifty features that make it stand out from the rest.
Firstly, the huge claimed range of 125 miles could last you a couple of weeks' commuting and beyond. The top spec version has two integrated batteries in the frame for over 1kWh of power, and it can reach speeds of up to 28mph. FUELL say a full recharge takes around 5 hours.
It's built around a sturdy aluminium frame and hydraulic disc brakes, and is recommended for city riding and outdoor adventures alike. A Gates belt drive and Shimano Alfine hub gears make it very low maintenance, and there's a full colour screen in the centre of the cockpit for displaying your battery level and all your data - there's also adjustable front suspension for an extra comfy ride over lumps and bumps.
On Indiegogo you can order a bike for a minimum of £2,297 at the time of writing - that's with one 504wh battery - and with two batteries the price is £2,707 for backers. Of course this side of the pond you will also have to register the Fluid as a moped because it has more than the legal limit of power allowed for e-bikes in the UK.
