For a week I had a converted Trek hybrid fitted with a 1500 watt motor - at full throttle I clocked close to 50mph!  I took it back for a full refund because it was a deathtrap but I reckon that it was only a matter of time before I'd be nicked anyway.

One thing I never tried for fear of being obviously nabbed by the police: RIDING ON MOTORWAYS!

I would like to remind everyone that driving a motor vehicle on the pavement is illegal. Somehow this infraction never makes the front page of our national organ. And whilst the police were pleased to proclaim they had "seized" the vehicle, I've never heard of the same penalty being exacted on a motorist driving on the pavement, of which I see a lot. Yet it's pretty obvious which infraction presents the greatest danger to others. Why the double standards?
