At ebiketips we love a bit of ingenuity. Whether that be bikes made from bamboo, or in the case of VeloConcerts' VeloStage, an electric cargo bike that’s also a mobile stage and sound system – a portable e-concert, if you will.
The idea behind the VeloStage is to create a sustainable, mobile and environmentally friendly way of hosting concerts, that just so happen to be attached to an electric cargo bike.
How does it work?
Essentially, VeloStage takes an electric front-loading cargo bike and replaces the cargo box with a stage that folds out. You can still store items within the box, but the actual stage folds out from this central point. The bike itself is based around a Harry vs Harry electric Bullitt e-cargo bike, which we reviewed a few years ago.

The UK arm of VeloStage is being headed up by Pedal Me co-founder, Chris Dixon, who had this to say about the project: "VeloConcerts is a hugely exciting project, and I'm hugely privileged to have been selected to bring it to the UK. It unifies two things I have a fair bit of experience with, and passion for: cargo bikes and sound.
"The VeloStage presents anyone that uses it with the opportunity to create real eye-catching, attention grabbing events literally anywhere with jaw-dropping sound quality on top thanks to JBL. It is quick, efficient, operates mains-free and it's all with zero emissions. The flexibility this presents to organisations to get their message across, whether that corporate or cultural, is endless.”
If you are interested in hiring one, prices start from £650 per day and more information can be found on the VeloConcerts website.
