Fazua has partnered with e-bike connectivity specialist Comodule to develop its own e-bike app, which all users of the company’s Evation drive system can use.
The app is said to meet the needs of the “training” e-biker and the data-driven rider that wants to record the usage statistics on their e-bike.
So, the app features GPS navigation, tracking and a speedometer, as well as metrics like cadence, rider power output and torque generation. On top of this, it can also communicate with the battery to display current battery levels and range, and give a technical overview of the motor system.
Handily, the new app can also connect you to support and give access to Fazua’s Service facility, as well as connectivity to social media to share rides.
“The idea behind the Fazua App was to display all data the Fazua Evation drive system is measuring,” says Fazua’s head developer Pablo Diez.
“By doing so, the app allows complete transparency about rider and system data at the same time combined with accurate GPS tracking, which allows riders to analyse their training as precisely as possible.”
In addition to the app, which is available for free on iOS and Android devices, Fazua and Comodule are also launching an OEM Platform including a cloud-based data service to directly connect OEM providers and its bikes. This will roll out starting with 2019 e-bikes, with an upgrade programme available for previous models at Fazua’s service partner locations.
“By adding the digital layer to the advanced Evation system, Fazua underlines its uniqueness in the e-bike industry,” says Teet Praks, Comodule’s co-founder.
“Giving OEM customers the possibility to communicate directly with their bike riders will be a key feature for future business models.”
A ‘pro’ version of the platform is also in the works, with the platform set to simplify the maintenance and service procedures OEM providers can give riders. That’s slated for a 2019 launch, with a host of new features promised.
