Brose have launched three new proprietary displays to make e-bike operation intuitive and ergonomic for all. Depending on your needs, you can opt for the Brose Display Central with a large colour screen, Display Allround with a smaller screen or the Display Remote with just a switch to mount on the side of your handlebars. All are compatible with any e-bike featuring the Brose Drive motor system.
With a 3.5 inch high definition colour screen mounted in the middle of your cockpit, the Display Central aims to provide crystal clear ride data, battery status and more in an impact-resistant ABS casing. There's a backlight to make it easily readable at night, and it's operated via the Brose Remote. The LED's on the Remote switch off when used with the Display Central, saving power as both monitors are never switched on at the same time.
The Display Allround takes the Remote and adds a 1.5 inch colour screen on top, meaning you don't have a large central display but it makes things more compact and integrates the screen and remote into one device. You won't get quite as many data fields on screen, but for those who just need to see the essentials it'll do just fine. It weighs just 50g, and is recommended for sporty urban or trekking bikes.
If you're only interested in changing your assist levels and don't really need a colour screen, the Display Remote will do the trick. The LED strip does show your battery charge status and assist level, with six buttons in total positioned for optimal ergonomics. You can wrap it round your handlebars on the left, right or centre depending on your preference, and it's best for those who take a 'less is more' approach, say Brose.
The first e-bikes equipped with the new Brose displays are set to land in September 2019 - head over to the Brose website for updates.
