Blix, a Santa Cruz based bike company, have launched their new “Packa” bike after smashing their initial £38,000 crowdfunding target by 300% and raising £114,776.
The Blix Packa is described as an “actual car replacement” and can go for almost 70 miles per charge thanks to its dual battery capacity.
The bike is capable of going up to 20 miles per hour with pedal assist.
Blix, whose name comes from the Swedish word Blixt (meaning lightning), have been around since 2014 and want to make: “short distance travel more enjoyable, fast and easy.”
The dual-battery version of the Packa is currently available on the crowdfunding website Indiegogo for £1,221, while the single-battery version can be bought for just £1,030.
Blix also offer a package deal for £1,450 which includes a large basket, rack cushions and a smart pannier bag.
With a total length of only 81 inches, the Packa is just a tiny bit larger than a regular bike.
The 24” wheels and low step-over frame allow for a low centre of gravity and easy handling.
The front and rear rack are equipped with mounting points to allow you to carry up to 200lbs (150lb in the rear and 50lb in the front).
The bike also has a “pedal assist system” which allows riders to choose between five levels of assistance (zero meaning no assistance and five meaning maximum assistance).
Other additional features include, USB ports, an odometer, an integrated rear light charged by the battery, and “walk mode” which allows you to set the bike at walk speed while walking alongside it.
Currently, the bike is only available in the U.S and Canada and if you order it now it should be with you by June 2019 – just in time for summer.
