German bike brand Bergamont have launched their e-bike range for 2020, from city hybrids to full on e-cargo machines for moving big stuff.
If you're not familiar, Bergamont hail from the St. Pauli area of Hamburg and are now under the Scott Bikes umbrella; they're big on the continent, but have slowly started appearing in UK stores and online retailers such as Tredz in recent years. Their e-bike range looks exciting for 2020, here's the cream of the crop...
E-Horizon FS
With prices starting from 2,229 euros, the E-Horizon is built for commuting, touring or travelling. The suspension means it's perfectly capable of taking on trails, while the rear rack means you can carry plenty of luggage for commutes or long tours.
E-GRANDURANCE
An e-gravel bike with Fazua's Evation system, Bergamont say the Grandurance offers 'enormous versatility' for exploring, b-roads, back ways and gravel tracks. The Expert version is 3,799 euros and the Elite model is 3,999 euros.
E-Cargoville Bakery
The intriguingly-named E-Cargoville Bakery is described as "an unconventional and highly versatile bike", suitable for lighter loads than their E-Cargoville LJ 70 below. You can transport plenty in the front carrier from groceries to commercial cargo... even the contents of your local bakery if you get particularly peckish, we presume... this one is priced at 3,799 euros.
E-Cargoville LJ 70
Bergamont's flagship long e-cargo machine is built for carrying large loads, with a max load capacity of 90kg. It has a Bosch Cargo Line drive unit and hub gearing, and the Single Geometry concept makes adjusting the bike simple with the ideal height range recommended between 1.60m and 1.90m.
Bergamont's 'Power Dome' is a really neat feature, incorporating the steering mechanism, battery and cable routing all into one integrated unit. There are also numerous accessories available including a kids' canopy, bamboo baggage box and a water-repellent box cover to protect against the rain. It's priced at 5,399 euros.
The bikes haven't appeared to pre-order on Bergamont's website yet, but will be available later in the year - check it out here.
