The electric mobility leasing platform Zoomo has announced two new electric cargo options: the VOK XL E-Cargo and the Fernhay E-Quad. The news comes just a few months after Zoomo added its first electric cargo option – the EAV brand’s 2Cubed e-quad.
The new additions from VOK and Fernhay are also electric four-wheelers, and are classified as electrically-assisted pedal cycles (EAPCs), which means they are limited to 15.5mph speed assistance and the assistance only works when the user pedals.
They do however come with roofs, which anyone who has ridden outside in the past month will appreciate is a welcome addition.
Zoomo will be offering financing for both new vehicles as part of their business leasing options. This includes full maintenance and “advanced fleet management software” so businesses can keep track of their fleets.
Both are aimed at being van replacements for last-mile deliveries, and offer a 200kg payload limit with a 2,000 litre cargo capacity. Both also offer a range of up to 31 miles (50km), while the VOK XL E-Cargo also has the ability to use regenerative braking to extend the range.
Michael Johnson, Zoomo’s Co-Founder and CRO said: "We're all-in on e-cargo bikes as true ‘van-replacers’. We know our customers in urban logistics want this solution to achieve their sustainability goals and drive more efficient deliveries.
"We have traction from customers around the world, including the likes of Evri, who are reaping the benefits of integrating cargo bikes into their fleets, and we’re determined to build on this momentum."
These types of electric four-wheelers appear to be gaining in popularity as last-mile delivery options, as they offer plenty of carrying capacity as well as a more enclosed space for the rider. Both electric four-wheelers are now available to hire on the Zoomo website.
