In a further expansion of its service, Blike, the bike subscription platform, has announced it will be adding Brompton electric bikes. There will be two new models for users to choose from: the electric P Line Urban and the C Line Urban. The news comes only a few months after Blike added fellow British e-bike brands Estarli and Volt to their range.
The bikes
The electric P Line Urban is made with titanium and steel, saving a claimed 2kg over the all-steel equivalent. It comes with a 4-speed drivetrain and suspension. We reviewed the Brompton Electric P Line earlier this year, and felt it was among the best compact electric folders.
This is their top-of-the-range e-bike option. If you were to hire it from Blike, it would cost £155 per month. This does however include servicing and insurance, making it a much more appetising proposition.
The other option is the Brompton C Line Urban. At £125 a month, it’s slightly more affordable, and comes with a 4-speed drivetrain, a removable battery and dynamo lighting.
Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time, so users arent' buying into lengthy contracts. They also include bike assembly, a demo and a yearly service.

Tim Carrigan, Blike’s founder, commented: “We are very excited to have Brompton join the range of bikes available on our subscription scheme. It caps off a successful year in which we doubled our rider base and made massive steps forward in our aim to provide customers with an affordable route into e-biking.”
The Managing Director of Brompton Bike Hire, Julian Scriven, added: "Our mission at Brompton is to create urban freedom for happier lives. We know that if more people cycled, our cities would be less congested and healthier places to live.
"Partnering with Blike enables more people to enjoy the benefits of riding a Brompton, through the flexible subscription service that they provide. We’re excited to be joining their existing range, and be part of their growth this year.’’
Blike works with both consumers and businesses, and offers a range of urban styled electric bikes on a flexible subscripton contract.
The new Brompton e-bikes are available to hire online now on Blike’s website.
