If you're looking to go car-free then you've probably thought about whether an electric cargo bike might be the perfect replacement. And cargo bikes aren't just for families: studies have suggested that half of all motorised trips in European cities that involve transport of goods could be shifted to bikes or cargo bikes, and last week the UK-government announced £2 million to support the uptake of e-cargo bikes, driving UK companies towards a greener future.
If you've never had a chance to try a cargo bike for yourself, then Dutch cargo bike brand Babboe is offering the chance to try out their range of e-cargo bikes at The Cycle Show at the NEC in Birmingham on Thursday 27 September, and on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th September at Look Mum No Hands! in London.
“We at Babboe believe everybody should have the opportunity to know of all the pleasures a Babboe can bring to every family", said Judith van den Briel, marketing director of Babboe. "That’s why we are on a UK mission to make more children happy and give parents a chance to get to know us.”
If you're interested in trying out a Babboe bike (or trike), you can register for one of the events on the Babboe website.
Babboe also have a brand ambassador scheme, where you can borrow a Babboe bike from a local owner to try out. It's certainly in its infancy at the moment (just one bike in the UK so far!) but keep an eye on it as it grows...
