American brand Kona has launched its new Remote CTRL e-MTB, with freeride and downhill pro Graham Agassiz at the heart of the campaign.
Centred around the tagline ‘Your Brain on E’, the Remote CTRL is designed as a go-anywhere dual suspension mountain bike that utilises the electric motor to amp up the fun.
That motor is a Bosch Performance Line CX model, and it’s powered by a 500Wh battery, and the results speak for themselves in Kona’s publicity videos with Agassiz maximising the bike’s considerable capabilities.
You get a RockShox Yari RC fork with 150mm of travel and Monarch Plus R Solo Air rear unit set into the brand’s Beamer independent system to ensure that the bike can deal with some of the gnarliest terrain, and they’re attached to a 6061 alloy frame with a suitably aggressive geometry for the likes of Agassiz. A TransX 30.9mm dropper seatpost allows instant adjustment if you like to hammer things heading down hill.
Other vital statistics? 27.5-inch wheels with Maxxis Rekon tyres, with braking taken care of via the SRAM Guide RE system with a 200mm rotor at the front and 1800mm rotor at the rear. The drivetrain also comes from SRAM – a 1x NX setup – with Kona itself providing the cockpit, and WTB the saddle with a Volt Sport model.
The Remote CTRL e-MTB is available to buy now, for £4,299.
