E-Trends has reduced the price of all its bikes on Amazon by 25 per cent. The UK brand specialises in budget e-bikes and the move brings the cost of its most affordable model, the Fly, down to £649.99.
We’ve reviewed a couple of E-Trends bikes in the last 12 months. While we don’t exactly have them down as must-buys, the prices were pretty hard to beat even before the discount.
We thought the E-Trends City was a decent cheap city workhorse, but with a few too many compromises to make it a particularly enjoyable ride.
You get a decent enough rear hub motor system built into a steel step-through frame with a 360Wh battery. It comes with a rack, basket, mudguards and kickstand and is now available from £744.85.
We also had a look at the E-Trends Trekker, a hybrid designed to cope with a few trails. It was a similar story in terms of cost compromises, but we concluded that if it were a couple of hundred pounds less it would be a contender to go in our list of the best budget e-bikes.
It was £1,199 then and it’s £847.91 now, so we’ve added it to that article.
Finally, the E-Trends Fly is a folding single-speed e-bike with a 270Wh battery. Its steel frame results in a weight of 23.5kg, which is pretty hefty for a folder, but you’ll struggle to find too many e-bikes that cost less than £650.
