Coast Cycles has launched the Buzzraw X at the Taipei Bike Show, and it’s a real head-turner.
Featuring a flat top tube on which perches the seat, the frame features 80mm of linear travel through DNM shocks at the front and rear, with the front fork featuring the BuzzWalker linkage design that keeps the effective trail of the frame constant.
The rear shock and fat tyres provides more comfort, while the long saddle adds to this while giving – Coast says – space for up to three people.
The you can have the drive in chain or belt format, with the latter achievable using a decoupler installed on the frame swingarm. With a fixed rear triangle chain stretching shouldn’t be an issue either.
The assistance comes from a Bafang hub motor putting out up to 250w, married to a removable 36V battery, with a walk-assist feature too. Interestingly, Coast has left space around the bottom bracket area for the installation of a crank-based motor, should you want to change your assistance method up in the future.
It should be a long future as well, with a treated 4130 chromoly frame and fork that should stand the test of time.
Prices of the X250 are still to be confirmed, while the X750 monster will be available in the US only. You can pre-register your interest now on Coast Cycle’s website.
