Carqon have launched a new flatbed e-cargo bike. The Ronseally-named Carqon Flatbed features the Bosch Performance CX Cargo Line mid-motor and, at least according to its manufacturers, can be used to carry “anything”.
The Flatbed has won Carqon several design awards, including the European Design Award and the German Design Award.
The platform is lined with 3M anti-slip tape and features sturdy hooks and a rail system so that you can secure your load with lashing straps.
“The Flatbed platform can hold anything, from suitcases to crates and boxes and from camping gear to sports equipment,” claims the firm.
Yes, this includes beer.
Of course this is no good if you lack the power to get everything moving. Fortunately, the Carqon boasts the most powerful electrically driven motor in the Bosch line-up, the Performance CX Cargo Line.
The bike’s low centre of gravity ensures you remain balanced, while braking power is provided by Tektro Dorado 4-Piston hydraulic disc brakes.
Prices range from €5,099 with a 400Wh battery to €6,299 with dual 500Wh batteries.
