In 1997 we opened our first Cycles UK bike shop, in Basildon.  We recruited a team of expert enthusiasts, made a promise to always find customers the right bike, and became one of the most loved and trusted independent bike shops in Essex.  

Fast forward a few decades, add 12 more shops, and drop in the explosion of the internet – and we’re now incredibly proud to be the South East of England’s favourite independent bike retail chain, and an online cycling retailer that is renowned for its traditional approach to customer service.

Our team of self-confessed cycling obsessives are available in-store and online to offer as much friendly advice as you can handle.  They are hell bent on helping you find the best bike and kit for your specific needs.  They also scour the industry and bench test like crazy to bring you the best products from top brands such as Specialized, Altura, Cannondale, Trek, Whyte, Wilier, Castelli, Sugoi, Garmin, Marin, Topeak, Dare2b, Kask, Giro, Huub, Bianchi, Bontrager and more.

Hang on though…we might be cycling nuts, but we’re not just here for the roadies, mud lovers or tri-harders.  

We are here for all cyclists, of all disciplines, and all levels.  We are passionate about celebrating all things bike, and making this wonderful sport as accessible as possible for everyone.

We’re appointed S-WORKS dealers, supporters of The British Triathlon Trust’s Tata Kids of Steel programme, sponsors of Team GB para triathlete Lauren Steadman, and we work tirelessly providing mechanical support to thousands of sportive riders across the South East all season long.
